A cool hat for a hot day

This hat won't melt in the sun! The artist Maor Zabar, who designed it, was ill and had to follow a special diet. He couldn't eat many of his favourite foods -including Ice Cream- so he transformed them into fell hats. Today, Maor is cured but he continues to create his food hats!

Cheerleaders

With their pom-poms, dance routines and big smiles, cheerleaders bring glamour to American football matches!

PROFESSIONAL CHEERLEADERS
These girls are cheerleaders for the National Football League. Professional cheerleaders make 500 to 750 dollars per season... that's not a lot of money. And they have to buy their own uniform -that costs 650 dollars! So that's why most cheerleaders have a second full-time job.

GLAMOUR
Girls all over the USA, dream of being a cheerleader. It is glamorous and fun, but it can also dangerous. The world of cheerleading is very competitive so girls have to be determined and succeed. It's a good thing to have on your CV!

HARD WORK
A cheerleading routine lasts one to three minutes, but cheerleaders practice up to six hours several nights per week.

THE AGE LIMIT
Cheerleaders for the National Football League can be from 18 to 42 years old. The average age is 25.

Migrant boats coming to Europe

Italy's coast guard says it rescued 2,452 migrants in the Mediterranean Sea on Thursday. The rescues were conducted through 11 operations that were coordinated by a central office in Rome, the coast guard said Friday via Twitter.

Italy has been coping with a wave of desperate migrants from Africa and the Middle East. There has been an upsurge in migrant boats crossing the Mediterranean in an attempt to reach the country, and a corresponding increase in rescues performed by the Italian Coast Guard.

Some 34,570 migrants arrived in Italy between January 1 and May 7, according to the International Organization for Migration. The same group says 1,780 migrants died while trying to reach Italian shores. Symbol of hope for chance at new life Symbol of hope for chance at new life

On Wednesday, the European Union's executive arm, the European Commission, outlined a series of new proposals on migration policy, including quotas on the number of migrants EU countries must accept. Approval is not a given, however.

Immigration is a contentious issue in many of the 28 member nations.

EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, who is from Italy, presented the proposals. "With this bold agenda, the European Union has proven itself ready to address the plight of those escaping from wars, persecution and poverty," she said Wednesday. "Migration is a shared responsibility of all member states and all member states are called now to contribute to tackling this historical challenge."

Mogherini said that foreign and defense ministers from EU nations are due to meet as soon as Monday to make some decisions on which measures will be initially approved.

MY OPINION:
I don't know if this is a good idea for Europe but for the immigrants, yes. I mean, they don't have a good life, they don't have normal conditions to live so they have an obligation: leave.
They think that here, in Europe, will find a place to work and a place to live in a better way. But it isn't for all the migrants, not all can reach the country. As the new above says, 1,780 migrants died while trying to reach Italian shores, that is a symbol of hope for chance at new life. Unfortunately, a lot of pregnant women and babies died during this trip before reaching the country and that is a big problem. Also, most of them have no idea to swim so if the boat go down most of the people drown and die.

"Running away, the only option for some European migrants".

Adam Levine hit with "sugar bomb" in Los Angeles

In his band's hit song "Sugar," Adam Levine sings about needing a little sweetness in his life. Probably not the kind he got Wednesday night.
A "sugar bomb" hurled at the Maroon 5 frontman left him coated in white, said Sgt. Robert Payan of the Los Angeles Police Department. The singer was not hurt.
Levine and fellow band members were signing autographs after leaving "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" studios when a heaping of powdered sugar wafted toward him, said Laura Tijerina, who was in the crowd.
Sugar spread all over him, including inside his ear, she said.

MY OPINION:
Well, if I was Adam, I wouldn't be so angry but I'd say to the person who threw that bomb of sugar that we should be more quiet and keep calm of her/his actions. Although, he has to understand it, he is a member of a very famous band (Maroon 5) and is very normal to have crazy fans who do things like that.
The person who did it, thought that it would be a great idea to throw a bomb of sugar to the singer who sings the famous song called "Sugar". I mean, she wanted to be funny but probably that turn into a bad joke to Levine.

Fast & Furious 7

I'd like to recommend a fil which I watched recently, called Fast & Furious 7. The director of the film is James Wan and the writer is Chris Morgan.

It's an action film and the setting is in different places like Rio, California, Abu Dhabi and others. The main characters are Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker). It talks about a family formed by Dom, Brian, Mia, Letty, Roman and Tej, who fight with a man who killed Han, an ex-member of the family.
In this film, there are car's drifting and a lot of action during the two hours. One of the main characters, Paul Walker, died on 30th November of 2013 in a car's crash and he couldn't finish the film, but his brothers: Cody and Caleb Walker, did it.

The things I liked most about the film were the characters and the romance between two of them: Brian and Mia (Dominic's sister) who has a son called Jack. Every scene is memorable because they're the last to watch Paul alive. I think it's the best film of the saga because it's dedicated to Paul and makes you get sad about it. However, there's gonna be another one: Fast & Furious 8 where Walker's brothers will replace him. Wiz Khalifa has made a song called See You Again which is dedicated to Paul. It's very beautiful. The film finishes when Dom and Brian are driving to different ways: Dom to his family home and Paul to heaven.

All in all, I really loved the film, the action, the scenes, all characters and overall my idol Paul Walker.

STUDENTS AGAINST DESTROYERS

21A Baker Street

6th April 2015

The Times office
Piccadilly Circus
Soho

Dear Sir or Madam,
I represent a group called "Students Against Destroyers". I am writing to you because we are concerned about plans to build a motorway. There are a lot of children in our area and this would be dangerous for them.

In our opinion, motorways are very dangerous because a lot of cars go fast through it and could hurt somebody. Therefore, the residents in our area might be in danger. If we have a motorway near our town, it will break a lot of children's hearts because they won't have any fun area to go to. The park is a local area where a lot of children go every day to have fun and stay with friends, so it would be a good idea to protest about this problem.

We have therefore decided to take action, and we are going to organize a march to protest about this. For this reason, we are sending you a letter which it would be great if you put it on the tomorrow's newspaper. We hope that you will support us and help to publicize this event.

Yours faithfully,
