Topic: cinema

Hi I'm Claudia and today I'm going to talk about a famous topic called cinema.

Do you like going to the cinema or you prefer watching films at home?
Well, I prefer going to the cinema because you can watch premiere films with a very big screen are a very good sound, although is very expensive.

What kind of movies do you prefer?
Romantic movies are my favourite. As someone know, I hate terror films 'cause they make suffer you a lot and I don't like it. I think romantic films are more interesting because they're very quiet and don't make you sweat.

What are your favourite movies?
As you see in the PowerPoint, The Lucky One and The Last Song are my favourite movies. Why? I love the first because there is my favourite actor, Zac Efron. And I like The Last Song because I think the romantic story which Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus have it's very beautiful.

The Lucky One talks about a U.S Marine called Logan returns from the third tour of duty in Iraq with the thing he kept him alive – a photograph of a woman who doesn't know. He finds her in Louisiana and it developes a romance between them.

In the Last Song, Ronnie (Miley Cyrus), during her holidays of summer in her father's house at the beach, she meets a handsome boy called Will (Liam Hemsworth) and grows a romance story between them.

Do you like this actor? What is your favourite actor/actress?
As you see here, my favourite actor is Zac Efron. Here are some of the films he has done: Charlie St. Cloud, That Awkward moment,High School Musical 1,2 and 3... Why? Because he's very handsome, he has a very beautiful body and he usually does romantic films.

If we return to talk about cinema, is it expensive?
As I said before, cinema is expensive. The price depends on the film but it is usually high. Luckily, there's always “The day of the viewer” or in Catalan “El dia de l'espectador” which depends on the cinema but this day the price is lower than always. For example, in Girona, Odeón Cinemas it's on Thursday where the price is 6,40. The same in Albeniz Cinemas, on the Day of the Viewer, the price is lower, 4,50€.

Well, this has been my oral presentation, thanks for your attention!

A postcard from California

Hi Candice!

We're having a wonderful holiday here in San Francisco. We're in a hotel which is in front of the beach so we can go there everyday. It's got a big swimming pool and a gym so we can get in shape when we want and then go to the swimming pool. San Francisco is a great place to spend your holidays, there are a lot of things to do! People are very friendly and there are some interesting boys surfing at the beach...

I think it was three days ago, that we went to visit the Golden Gate Bridge, I took a lot of photos there because the sights were beautiful. After that, I was interested in visiting the Alcatraz Prison so we got a car and we were there in a moment. California's very beautiful, there are a lot of beaches you can enjoy swimming and the weather's pleasant.

Are you enjoying your holidays in Sydney?

Love you,
Clàudia :)

We need more bike lanes!

I'm writing because I was cycling around the city with some friends last week and we couldn't go safe because cars didn't repect us. This photo shows the street which needs a bike lane in one of the sides.

I think there are one or two reasons for this. Firstly, there are too many blue zone (parkings) on the sides of the street, so perhaps we need to reduce this and increase the bike lanes. Secondly, there are too many people who go by car instead of bikes, so there are more cars than bikes in the streets.

We must do something about this situation. Maybe there isn't much money to pay this or there isn't enough space. I don't know but we must definitely do something here if we don't want more accidents about bikes, and have a better city, but above all, people has to be safe.

TV highlights

The highlight of this week's TV was definitely the reality show "How do I look?". The women who participated were people who didn't have style: they dressed very badly. So, their family brought them to this programme because they needed a change. After a few days, their look was perfect!

FOX's drama series Castle (7th season) was also worth watching. In the last episode of the 6th season, Castle was going to his wedding but one car was following him. After that, we could see Castle's car on fire without Richard inside. On the first episode of the 7th season, Beckett was investigating this case about his wonderful "husband".

Finally, something which also caught my eye was a documentary called "Shark attacks" in Discovery Max. People who was attacked and was near dead because of sharks, explained their stories. There was a woman who was surfing in a beach of California and suddenly a white shark came behind her and pulled out her arm. It was horrible because I watched a lot of blood in the ocean, it was a bad story.
